We all wonder if we have what it takes.
We probably all fear that the answer might be no.
We all dream to have people around us who believe in us.
People who know we can do more and who challenge us to reach our potential.
People who coach us when we fall down.
Who don’t give up on us, even when we’ve given up on ourselves.
Who encourage us when we feel like failures.
Who chant our name when we want to quit.
And who aren’t shy about celebrating raucously with us when we see it through.
I want those people in my life!
And that makes me realize: I need to be that person for the people in my life!
Watch this video to see what I’m talking about:
I can’t get over this video! May we all be these kind of friends! May we all be this kind of coach! And may we all be like this kid, who pressed on when the going got tough.
And we urge you, brothers and sisters, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all.
Paul, in his first letter to the church in Thessalonica
(1 Thessalonians 5:14)
